  • Aberdeen Proving Ground

    The government took formal possession of the land at Aberdeen on Oct. 20, 1917, and immediately began building testing facilities. The new proving ground at Aberdeen would be used for proof-testing field artillery weapons, ammunition, trench mortars, air defense guns and railway artillery. The mission was later expanded to include operation of an Ordnance training school and developmental testing of small arms. Our mission is to provide test and test support services for authorized customers, within DOD and outside DOD including government and non-government organizations domestic and foreign. Provide comprehensive test and training both real and simulated; provide expert knowledge and technical services including instrumentation application, facility operations, manufacturing and fabrication; exploit emerging technologies; and develop leading edge instrumentation and test methodologies.

    Altus Air Force Base is located in Altus, Oklahoma. It has a population of 19,422 and a median age of 33.2. Our primary mission, is being the Strategic Airlift and Air Refueling Training School for the nation’s KC-46 Pegasus, C-17 Globemaster III and KC-135 Stratotanker.

Ankara has four definite seasons, and the weather resembles Denver or Washington, DC. Our mission is to assist the Turkish Armed Forces modernize; increase cooperative weapons systems research, development and acquisition; support U.S. Forces and activities in Turkey; and, as possible, assist U.S. industries competing for sales of U.S. equipment. Additionally, we work to facilitate bi-lateral Turkish and American military operations on behalf of the U.S. European Command (EUCOM).

  • Buckley AFB

    The city of Denver purchased the land and donated it to the Army in the early years of World War Two. The Army quickly established a large US Army Air Force Base, training over fifty thousand airmen through basic, and housing a technical training center for bombardier and armorer roles. After World War II, Buckley became an auxiliary field for Lowry AFB, an Air National Guard Field, and then a Navy Air Station all in the space of three years. Buckley was renamed Naval Air Station Denver until the base was transferred to the US Air Force in 1959, when it became Buckley Air Force Base for a year, before becoming Buckley Air National Guard Base – the first stand-alone Air National Guard Base, home of the 120th Tactical Fighter Squadron. The total-force integrated team is integral to the success of the missile warning mission along with the success of Team Buckley.

The 702 MUNSS is a Geographically Separated Unit (GSU) responsible for receipt, storage, maintenance, and control of US war reserve munitions in support of the German Air Force Jagdbomber-Geschwader 33 (33rd Fighter-Bomber (PA-200)) Wing.

  • Camp Parks

    The Camp Parks Reserve Forces Training Area (PRFTA) was built during World War II, and was commissioned January 19, 1943 as Camp Parks and was home to the Navy Seabees. The Sea of Quonset huts and two-story wooden barracks were dismantled in the following years.
